These four Arcopol France teacups and saucers, are a dainty set. The white opal glass is very fine, and with the added gold edging, makes a very elegant set.
Condition: One of the cups has what looks like a glazing flaw on the inside which is reflected in the price, the picture shows the details. Otherwise the rest are in good vintage condition.
Dimensions: Saucer 12.5cm diameter. Cup 8.5cm diameter at the top, 5cm high.
History: From my research I can find that the Arcopol brand of tempered opal glass was introduced in 1958 by the now named Arc Group. An innovation of its time for being highly durable, non-porous, break and thermal resistant; making the brand still highly sought after today. This pattern is called Harlequin and estimated to be made around the 1960s.
